House damaged by fire

A HOUSE was left damaged by smoke after a fire broke out in a bathroom.
Firefighters were called to Fairway, Windle, on Monday evening where they extinguished flames coming from a first floor bathroom.
A spokesman for Mersey Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two fire engines had been called to the property.
Smoke alarms were fitted at the property but the batteries had been removed.
The bathroom, hallway and landing area were all damaged.
There were no reports of anyone suffering injuries.
