St Helens Council seeks heritage day gems
6:02pm Monday 6th February 2012
DO you know of a building in the St Helens borough that deserves a place in history?
St Helens Council wants to hear from residents with ideas on places that can feature in this year’s Heritage Open Days event (6-9 September).
The national initiative celebrates history, architecture and culture by allowing visitors free access to properties across the UK.
Last year’s event saw thousands of people turning out to get a rare glimpse inside buildings including St Helens Town Hall, local churches, the Masonic Hall and the Friends Meeting House.
St Helens Council has pledged its support to groups and venues wishing to take part in Heritage Open Days 2012.
Organisations, keyholders, church members or community and voluntary groups which require more information about the event can contact Karen Rylance on 01744 677076.
