Calling all young masterchefs
10:00am Friday 27th January 2012
YOUNG people are invited to try their hands at being chefs this half-term.
That’s one of the activities planned by the council’s youth service, which is lining up holiday fun at local youth centres.
Young Apprentice Chef sees teams of youngsters given 30 minutes to create their brand of new, innovative ‘hot potato’.
Winning teams from each centre will see their products downed by those taking part in Trial and Terror – where other strange foods await contestants who are warned they will get wet and slimy.
Big Breakfasts and Cupid’s Challenge are also planned.
The event follows a successful Christmas schedule and Councillor Sue Murphy said: “Our youth centres made sure there was somewhere safe to go for young people across the borough.
“Our youth teams staged a range of activities including traditional hot pot supper evening, Christmas quiz, bingo, a film night and fitness sessions.”
